Austen, Ardent Love, and Adaptation


You are cordially invited to tea and conversation with Asssistant Professor of Theatre Brooke Kiener and our very own Laura Bloxham. They will lead us in a discussion about courtship and marriage in Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice as well as in an exploration of 19th-century literature adaptations for the contemporary theatre audience.

When: 2:00-3:30 pm on Saturday, March 8

Where: Hardwick Alumni House, 118 W. Hawthorne Road

Cost: $7.50 which includes tea and light appetizers

Registered guests will receive $2 off any performance of Whitworth Theatre
Department’s spring mainstage performance of Pride and Prejudice in
Cowles Auditorium. A discount code will be provided to attendees after
registration. Performances will take place on March 7, 8, 9, 14 and 15.
